Bishop Lawrence White is a servant leader in the hilltop
community of Tacoma, Washington. He is the pastor/teacher of
the Church of the Living God Temple #202 now in his
nineteenth year and the former Overseeing Elder of the
Eleventh Diocese, which included Washington, Oregon and
Northern California.
As a native son of the Great Plains of Nebraska, born
seventh of eight original children to Clifford L. and
Dorotha M. White of Omaha, Nebraska. He has been blessed
with a beautiful wife Audrey of seventeen years and three
wonderful children Monique, Matthew
and Mark.
His formal training includes a B. S. degree from Dana
College in Blair, Nebraska and he received his Masters of
Divinity at Faith Seminary and Doctoral work at Faith
Seminary in Tacoma, WA., with a focus on collaborative
leadership development.
Professionally he brings eighteen years of corporate
management experience with Centurylink Communications Inc.,
(formerly US West Communications) He offers a wealth of
experiences ranging from Sales, Marketing, Market Analysis,
Economic Forecasting, Product Management, Strategic
Planning, Customer Service, Diversity training, Conflict
Resolution training. In addition to being Pastor of the
Church of the Living God, he is also Executive Director of
the Vision Center.
The Vision Center was established June 28, 1998 to improve
the quality of life in Pierce County. This is being
accomplished through programs and activities that address
education, youth and family development, parent education,
community concerns, and economic empowerment.
He has a straight-forward,
"tell-it-like-it-is" approach to
current issues combining biblical integrity, relevance and a
energetic speaking gift coupled with more than 20 years of
management and leadership experience makes Bishop White a
dynamic and much sought-after biblical and motivational
speaker. He is renowned for the warmth and humor he uses to
bring his insights and anecdotes to life.
